My favorite project to create was the monster project because it allowed me to use any techniques I wanted and it gave me the ability to be as creative as I wanted and create a piece exactly how I imagined it. My greatest struggles was creating coils for the large coil pot and the exposed coil cup. It was difficult for me to roll out the coils evenly and to the length I wanted without breaking the coil or destroying its round surface. I learned to overcome this challenge by using my whole hand to roll out the coil and not push down as hard on the coil against the table. When I first came to ceramics class, I did not know the differnt properties of clay, like how use must scratch and attach different pieces so that they do not brake apart once they are dry, or how clay memory will cause a piece to crack if it is stretched to much out of position. Over the course of the semester I have improved upon my ability to make clay super smooth and I also learned different methods to create a vessel such as a pinch pot, stacking coils, or rolling a slab round a tube.
